Aqaba - Jordan

As part of its ongoing efforts to support and develop Jordan’s hospitality sector, the Jordan Hotels Association has launched its pioneering training tour in Aqaba, aimed at enhancing the skills of hotel employees working within the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.

This tour, which began on Sunday, August 11, 2024, and will run for four days, reflects the association’s commitment to improving the competence of sector workers, contributing to sustainable development and growth in this vital field.

The association has organized four specialized training courses covering various hotel departments, focusing on developing the essential skills of employees. These free courses underscore the association’s active role in developing human resources and promoting collaboration in the tourism and hospitality sectors, in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority.

The training tour kicked off today with a specialized course on “Food Safety and Hygiene,” held at the DoubleTree by Hilton – Aqaba. The course targeted employees working in kitchen and restaurant departments and included training on best practices in food handling, preparation, and storage to prevent foodborne illnesses. The session saw significant engagement, with around 80 employees from various Aqaba hotels in attendance.

This training tour is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by the Jordan Hotels Association to elevate service standards in the hospitality sector, enhancing the skills of its workforce and contributing to the overall advancement of Jordanian tourism.
